Analytical solution of a new mixed boundary-value problem in heat conduction
Abstract
The analytical solution of a new mixed boundary-value problem in the theory of heat conduction in a slab is obtained by use of conformal mapping. Over a finite portion of one face of the slab convective heat exchange takes place between the solid and the adjacent fluid medium through an arbitrary heat-transfer coefficient, while the rest of that face is insulated. The other face of the slab is maintained at a constant temperature.
