A branching set and integral manifolds of the problem of the motion of a solid body in a linear force field
Abstract
The analysis deals with the integrable problem of the motion of a solid fixed at its center of mass under the action of a linear force field. This force field constitutes a classical approximation for a central Newtonian force field. A branching set (which may be treated as a set of critical values of a certain integral representation) is obtained, and the type of integral manifolds is identified in a nondegenerate case.
