Astrophysical applications of time resolved molecular spectroscopy.
Abstract
The paper examines the important astrophysical applications of time resolved molecular spectroscopy. High resolution lifetime data can be used for accurate estimates of oscillator strengths of interest for estimates of astronomical atomic and molecular abundances. Time resolved studies of radiationless processes yield new information on dissociation energies and molecular formation and destruction rates. Recently investigated resonance transfer processes between close lying states should also be of importance in the conditions of stellar atmospheres.
