Evidence for negative parity for the 7064-keV level in 208Pb
Abstract
The (d,p) stripping pattern for excitation of the 7064-keV level in 208Pb is best described by l=2 which implies Jπ=1-. This implies that electromagnetic deexcitation would take place by E 1 radiation rather than M 1 as had been previously suggested. NUCLEAR REACTIONS 207Pb (d,p), E=26.2 MeV; measured σ (Ep, θ) deduced levels, J,π.
