Multiple criterion optimization and statistical design for electronic circuits
Abstract
The ideas and techniques of multiple criterion optimization (MCO) were reviewed. A family of weighted p norm methods for generating noninferior solutions to the multiple criterion optimization problem were developed. Using the p norm family the degree of a noninferior solution and a canonic weight was defined for each noninferior solution. The MCO solution techniques implemented using two different constrained optimization algorithms and are then compared on a test problem. Techniques of MCO and yield estimation were applied to the design of a two input gates. The results indicate the feasibility of adding yield as an objective to the MCO design problem and confirm the usefulness of the MCO viewpoint in the design of electronic circuits.
