New approaches to sampled-data analog signal processing
Abstract
Techniques in sampled data signal processing are examined, and approaches toward the design of switched capacitor filters and periodic time varying charge transfer devices (CTD's) is presented. The design of switched capacitor (SC) filters are discussed. A class of lossless s-to-z transformations are introduced and SC integrators to realize such transformations are presented. A general synthesis technique is described for obtaining a switched capacitor filter from an active RC prototype. The response of the SC filter is related to that of the prototype by the bilinear z-transform. The possibility of time sharing of the operational amplifiers among several leapfrog filters is investigated. A design technique for finding switched capacitor equivalents of floating inductors and LC-resonators is evaluated. The resulting circuit needs only one operational amplifier with grounded input and output ports.
