Studies of rich clusters of galaxies - V. Photometry and luminosity functions for eight clusters.

We have measured V₂₅ magnitudes in eight fields centred on the clusters A426, 1377, 1553, 2065, 2147, 2151, 2199 and 2670, and B₂₅ magnitudes in A1377 and 2199. These form complete samples within circles of 0.92 Mpc radius about the cluster centres and to an absolute V magnitude limit ranging from -18.8 for A426 at z = 0.0181 to -21.1 for A 1533 at z = 0.1651. We have constructed the luminosity functions. Published magnitudes for the Virgo cluster are presented in a comparable form.
