Two-dimensional variable F.I.R. bandpass filters
Abstract
The cosine transformation cos alpha = A(0) + A(1) cos Omega (where alpha and Omega are frequency variables for the one-dimensional prototype and the transformed filters, respectively) is extended to the design of constant-center frequency/variable-bandwidth and constant-bandwidth/variable-center-frequency for circularly symmetric two-dimensional FIR bandpass filters. In this method the cutoff frequencies along both frequency axes can be independently controlled by applying McClellan's transformation. A way of obtaining nearly circular symmetric bandpass filters by applying the aforementioned method is also presented.
