Heat transfer in rarefied MHD laminar channel flow
Abstract
An analytical analysis is made of the problem of heat transfer for the steady axisymmetric laminar source flow of an electrically conducting slightly rarefied gas between two infinite parallel disks in a transverse magnetic field. Both Joule and viscous heating are taken into account. The flow parameters and temperature are expanded in powers of 1/r. The amount of heat transfer per unit time from a finite disk is calculated. It is found that with an increase in magnetic field, the rate of heat transfer from the lower disk decreases and that from the upper disk increases.
