Hydrodynamic stability of incompressible boundary layers with variable viscosity
Abstract
In the present paper the hydrodynamic stability of an incompressible boundary layer is analyzed with allowance for the gradient nature and variable viscosity of the flow. The stability characteristics of self-similar boundary layers are obtained by a numerical method. The appreciable influence of the coefficient of viscosity over the boundary layer thickness on the stability characteristics is demonstrated.
