The influence of birefringence and cooling on the output characteristics of a Nd-YAG laser pumped at a high repetition rate in a diffusive cavity
Abstract
The effects of birefringence and its slow fluctuation (less than 0.05 Hz) on the output characteristics of a Nd-YAG laser pumped at a high repetition rate in a diffusive-type cavity are studied. Particular attention is given to variations in the distribution of the beam in the near field, and to measurement of the fluctuations in the average output of the laser.
