Structure of local sources of the S component of solar radio emission
Abstract
Two-dimensional images of magnetically braked local sources (LS) of the S-component of solar radio emission at several wavelengths and different angular distances from the disk center are calculated for a model with a narrow chromosphere-corona transition region and a magnetic-field distribution above a sunspot approximated by the field of a current loop situated beneath the photosphere. Integrated characteristics of LS are also computed and found to be in agreement with those observed. The computer program developed and used in this paper is regarded as a 'virtual' LS model and a tool for studying physical conditions in the solar atmosphere above a sunspot.
