Spectrophotometric investigation of the magnetic variable 21 Per. III
Abstract
Coordinates and radii of the regions of concentration of the elements Eu, Fe, C, Ti, Mn, and Sr are determined for the Ap star 21 Per. A diagram of the distribution of the concentration regions on the stellar surface is provided, and the star's angle of inclination is found to be 36.6 deg. Data are obtained which indicate that individual elements, such as Fe, are also present between the regions of concentration. It is concluded that the nature of the line-intensity and radial-velocity variation with phase for 21 Per depends on the sizes and coordinates of the element-concentration regions and that the star's variability is well represented in the first approximation by a model involving an oblique rotator and surface element-concentration regions in the form of round spots.
