Application of a coherent optical system to the search for cold stellar satellites
Abstract
It is shown that speckle interferometry is an effective tool for detecting low-mass 'dark companions' of stars. The possibility of attaining diffraction-limited resolution in large telescopes by Fourier analyzing speckle patterns in star images is demonstrated.
