High resolution radio observations of bright rims in IC 1396.
Abstract
Aperture synthesis observations have been made at 1415 MHz with a resolution of about 25 arcsec of a region containing four bright rims in the diffuse nebula IC 1396. An additional observation of H2CO absorption at 4830 MHz in the associated molecular cloud has been made. The physical parameters of the bright rims and the possiblity of an additional source of excitation in the molecular cloud are discussed.
