Gamma-ray spectra expected from pulsars.
Abstract
A grid of gamma-ray spectra of pulsars is calculated according to a model where the primary radiation consists of curvature photons; photon absorption by magnetic pair production and secondary synchrotron emission are allowed for. The pulsar period, the initial Lorentz factor of the primary particles, and the surface magnetic field have been taken as free parameters, and their influence on the spectral shape is shown and discussed. Hardness ratios and radiation efficiencies are also given. Observational implications are suggested for the unidentified gamma-ray sources.
