Avalanche frequency multiplier
Abstract
Results obtained from a 7000 hours reliability test performed on an X 16 avalanche frequency multiplier from about 960 MHz to 15,4 GHz are presented. The complete characteristics of the multiplier are described and especially their evolutions with time are pointed out. The computer aided design of two specified applications of such multipliers, is discussed: (1) an X 18 avalanche frequency multiplier from 1,5 to 27 GHz with 20 dbm output power, and (2) an X 12 avalanche frequency multiplier from 1,5 to 18 GHz with 20 dbm input power and maximum conversion efficiency.
