Fairchild contract for mass production of integrated circuits
Abstract
Relevant authorities in Hungary and the United States approved a contract between the National Planning Committee and the Fairchild Corp. for the mass production of integrated circuits. According to the provisions of the agreement, which have a duration of seven years, Fairchild will provide the manufacturing and measuring technology for plastic-capsulated bipolar digital and linear integrated circuits, will provide the manufacturing and testing facilities, and will make available all data and production techniques which are required for designing the plant, for manufacturing the products, and for proper services which are required for the operation of the plant. The technology to be implemented will be the same in all respects as that used in the Fairchild factories at the time the agreement is signed. Fairchild will supply most of the manufacturing and testing equipment.
