Low cost manufacturing of monocrystalline silicon solar cells - A review of technological solutions
Abstract
Techniques for achieving short-term cost reduction in the manufacturing of single-crystal silicon solar cells are outlined. CZ ingot growth conditions are described. Three wafering methods are compared: ID slicing, multiblade sawing, and multiwire sawing. Solar cell processing is emphasized and optimum manufacturing conditions are discussed. Typical characteristics of large-diameter solar cells made by such simplified processes are presented.
