A heat transfer correlation for horizontal annular-flow condensation of R-12 in tubes
Abstract
A model is presented for the problem of condensing heat transfer inside horizontal tubes with varying wall temperatures. The model assumes a laminar annular flow in the condensate film and uses the boundary layer similarity principles to describe the flow of the condensate. The predictions from the model presented compare better with the experimental data obtained in the present investigation and also with those of Azer et al. (1971) than the predictions obtained from other models given by Soliman et al. (1968) and Azer et al. (1971) which assume the condensate flow to be turbulent.
