Nonlinear optimization of the attitude-velocity control system of a single-nozzle space vehicle
Abstract
A solution is developed for the plane problem of minimum-time optimal control of attitude and velocity of a powered spacecraft. Attitude control is implemented by a limited-deflection, instantaneously-gimbaled nozzle. Computation of the optimal control is done numerically by a method based on the Pontriagin maximum principle.
