Transmission of digital signals in radio links
Abstract
Radio-relay systems for the transmission of digital signals can be conceived for all radio-frequency ranges in which up to now analog radio-relay systems were used. In addition, such systems are particularly suited for an employment in the frequency range above 12 GHz where an analog transmission is difficult or impossible in connection with the particular propagation relations. Modulation types and procedures are considered and the development and characteristics of the radio-relay systems are examined. A description is given of the directional radio set PSK 120-240/15000, taking into account aspects of device design, the transmitter, the receiver, and aspects of operational supervision.
