A simple camera system for photography of projectiles in flight under daylight conditions
Abstract
A modified Linhof camera with a two msec electromechanical shutter using a point light source with a flash interval of one microsecond was developed. Photography of projectiles in flight with a length of up to one meter and a velocity up to 1700 meters per second is possible. A retro reflector and high gain reflective sheeting were used. Silhouette and shockwave photographs are also possible. The use of a second flash unit permits photographs of the projectile body.
