Experimental determination of transient voltages in a coil
Abstract
The voltage induced in a coil by a pulse transient field was measured in order to quantify the reduction in amplitude and increase in pulse width derived from the differences in the induction field between coil winds. The voltages between the various winds of a coil were recorded by an oscilloscope and photographed so that the different wave forms could be compared. Results show that induced voltage is not proportional to the number of winds in the coil. A qualitative explanation is presented.
