Treatment of boundaries in unsteady inviscid flow computations
Abstract
A technique is described for a simple and efficient way of treating body, shock, and contact discontinuity boundaries in the computation of unsteady inviscid flow fields. The technique is general in the sense that it does not depend on the integration scheme used for interior points. Nor does it change when altering the conformal transformations that define the computational space. Considerations are given to the order of accuracy, and a set of thermodynamical unknowns is proposed that guarantees second order accuracy at body and contact discontinuity borders. The analysis is set up for a case where the equations of motion are transformed via general time-independent mappings and stretchings. The equations of motion are written in non-conservative form.
