Cylindrically symmetric stationary fields in general relativity
Abstract
Some special solutions to the EinsteinMaxwell equations are examined which correspond to sourcefree steadystate cylindrically symmetric electromagnetic fields. It is found that the steadystate solutions can be reduced to known solutions corresponding to static electrovac fields if the metric elements g_{tt,} g_{phi} phi, and g_{phi} t are linearly related.
