Clustering, pairing and anisotropy of QSOs.
Abstract
Evidence for nonuniformity of the distribution of QSOs over the sky is reviewed. Topics discussed include associations of QSOs with galaxies, pairing of QSOs and the distribution of radio-detected QSOs over the sky. Periodic structure in the distribution of QSO emission-line redshifts is also discussed, and recent work on the surface density of QSOs at various apparent magnitudes is summarized. Very little compelling evidence exists at present against the view that QSOs are distributed uniformly across the sky and are unassociated with bright galaxies or with other QSOs.
