Remote sensing on a shoestring
Abstract
The paper describes a multispectral photoviewer, based on the principle of additive light, that can be built at a cost of $20. Two photos of the original are viewed simultaneously through two different color filters, and the images are superposed. Materials needed include a beam splitting mirror, a 5 x 5 inch mirror, colored acetate, and possibly some gelatin filters. Although the principle can be extended to three colors, experiments have shown that additional colors do not yield better images or informational content.
