Augmentation of the resolving power of an optical method for turbulence measurements
Abstract
A method based on the secondary filtering of the light field is proposed for improving the resolving power of shadow-photography equipment with photoelectric recording used for measurements of turbulent flow. Signal dispersion for a device with secondary filtering is studied for the case of a light field with an energy spectrum of optical inhomogeneities in the turbulent medium and compared with that for a device with single filtering. Experimental results agree well with theoretical predictions of augmentation of resolving power.
