Group II-V semiconductor compounds
Abstract
Domestic and foreign papers are reviewed with a view toward generalization. Some aspects of the crystal chemistry, physical chemistry, and the optical and electrical properties of Group II-V semiconductor compounds are examined. The compounds are classified with respect to the nature of chemical interaction and crystal-chemical properties. The phase diagrams of the compounds are analyzed, and the thermodynamical properties and thermal dissociation characteristics are examined. The important role of structural vacancies and point defects in the formation of physicochemical and physical properties is noted. Attention is given to the determination of the band structure from theoretical group analysis.
