Circuit-engineering principles, component base and design characteristics of digital bipolar-transistor LSI and super-LSI systems
Abstract
Circuit-design principles for digital bipolar LSI and super-LSI devices are reviewed with emphasis on the utilization of several data-signal levels, logical operations in the internal structure of the LSI circuit carried out by switching the data current, and a static-dynamic principle of data storage. The following functional components of LSI devices are characterized: current sources, current distributors, current multipliers and current switches. Several LSI design realizations are discussed including combined logic circuits and sequential logic circuits.
