Estimates of the magnetic fields from magnetization of carbonaceous chondrites.
Abstract
Different types of magnetization in carbonaceous chondrite specimens are modeled, and the effect of low temperature on the natural remanent magnetization of the specimens is investigated. The paleomagnetic field during the formation period of carbonaceous chondrites is estimated by means of stepwise remagnetization. Values of 1.00 to 1.36 Oe are obtained for four chondrites.
