An unconventional approach to turbulent diffusion
Abstract
An axiomatic theory of turbulent diffusion is proposed which is based on the concept of the algebra generated by measured observables in a turbulence field. The physical properties of the system emerge as the only ones possible from the axioms. Questions of isomorphism and homomorphism in modeling physical systems are examined. These questions concern the formal affine nature of the fundamental equation of classical field theory and one of the equations of particle transfer in a passive mixture in a turbulence field.
