An exact solution of the axisymmetric boundary layer equations
Abstract
The problem of a radial jet emerging from a hole in the wall is considered. A self-similar solution is presented in the boundary-layer approximation for the radial flow of a viscous incompressible fluid between a wall and an axisymmetric paraboloid. The mass-flow-rate is assumed to be constant. An expression is derived for the distribution of the velocities and the pressure drop in the boundary layer.
