Numerical methods and computer programs for calculating three-dimensional electromagnetic fields with examples of selected antenna near-fields and convergence considerations
Abstract
The paper describes the general features of a program for calculating the electromagnetic field of antennas. This program has three main divisions: (1) computation of the current distribution, (2) calculation of field lines in numerical form, and (3) display of the calculated spatial field lines. The program has the ability to check the results for possible errors and physically unrealistic field structures. Examples of the computation of the flux lines for a transmitting conical logarithmic spiral antenna and a transmitting two-armed helical antenna are shown.
