Numerical optimization procedure for linear antennas
Abstract
Computational procedures for determining the optimal shape of linear antennas are set forth. Procedures for maximizing the effective length and maximizing the directivity are studied. If the antenna configuration is restricted to the E-plane, it is shown that the linear antenna shape for maximum effective length is essentially the same as for maximal gain. The optimum shape for maximum directivity is also shown to be very nearly the same.
