Probable wavelengths and relative intensities of MgO infrared bands
Abstract
The need for experimental data on some of the spectroscopic properties of MgO which may be useful during a further search of MgO in the lower E region of the ionosphere is emphasized. Predicted relative intensities of the bands of the A1∏-X1J+ transition of MgO from 1.0 to 10μm are calculated to assist in the search for the presence of this system in the atmosphere.
