Analysis of anisotropic dielectric branching waveguide - Its application to TE-TM mode converter
Abstract
The paper examines the mode propagation characteristics of a dielectric branching waveguide in which one branch consists of an isotropic material and the other of an anisotropic material. The characteristic equation is obtained by approximating the branching waveguide modes to those in a five-layer waveguide. The propagation constants and mode patterns are analyzed. Numerical examples are presented, and some applications are discussed.
