Message control in a real time system
Abstract
This paper describes the design objectives and design concepts of the Message Control System (MCS), which serves as intermediary between a remote station and an application program in a real time system. It is shown that further efficiency in data communication is realized through the use of a new programmable communication controller. A new telecommunications access method, based on the logical terminal concept, is suggested. A gate control method is introduced into the message scheduling to apply a single MCS to a variety of services.
