The secondary effects of XZ Cygni
Abstract
Data based on several years' observation of XY Cygni are applied to a study of the secondary phenomena which occur in a pulsating star. Topics discussed include the secular variation of the main pulsation period and the oscillating photometric elements of the star, the Blazhko effect, the long-period variation, and the evolutionary stage of XY Cygni. The common stability domain, in which both the fundamental mode and the first harmonic of pulsation are stable, is considered.
