Pulsed CO2 TEA laser rangefinder
Abstract
A compact laser rangefinder has been developed, which incorporates a sealed-off pulsed CO2 TEA laser and uses direct (i.e., nonheterodyne) detection. This device is essentially eye safe and benefits from the superior atmospheric transmission at a 10.6-micron wavelength. Design parameters are presented and illustrated, and system performance is discussed.
