The MagneticBinaries Problem: Motion of a Charged Particle in the Region of a MagneticBinary System
Abstract
The combination of the twobody problem with that of the motion of a charged particle in a magneticdipole field (Störmer's problem) is treated in this article. Thus, in a long series of articles, a first step is taken to study the behavior of a charged particle in a magneticbinary system. This first step includes a description of a simple model of such a system, the derivation of the equations of motion of the particle in the system, and a discussion on this foundation of the problem.
