The system design of the SHF experiment
Abstract
The Sirio satellite, intended to perform propagation and telecommunication experiments above 10 GHz, was launched on August 25, 1977. This paper gives a comprehensive review of the system design development and provides the final system performance specifications, based on actual values measured for the satellite in orbit and for the earth stations. Design goals are substantially met and first experimental results demonstrate satisfactory system performance.
