Coupled electromagnetic and scalar fields in a cylindrically symmetric space-time
Abstract
A zero-rest-mass scalar field coupled with an electromagnetic field is considered for a cylindrically symmetric spacetime defined by the Marder (1958) metric. A class of exact nonstatic solutions for the Marder metric in six cases is obtained. An exact nonstatic solution of the general-relativistic field equations containing only a zero-rest-mass scalar field is also found.
