Spectra and microstructure of pulsar signals in a relativistic electron beam model.
Abstract
Summary. The radio emission mechanism introduced in a previous paper is extended to provide an explanation for some of the features of the spectra of pulsars. Observations are used to fix the -value of the beam particles at around 500. The position of the radiating particles in the magnetosphere is also determined. A more detailed investigation of the polarization and micro structure is presented. Various criticisms of beam-plasma models are discussed. Key words: pulsars - pulse spectra - pulse microstructure
