Line positions and oscillator strengths of rotation-vibration band of possible interstellar SiH and SiH+.
Abstract
Summary. Line positions of the lA), 2-1 and 2A) vibrational transitions in the ground electronic state of possible interstellar SiH and SiH + are obtained by a differencing process from laboratory measurements of their electrohic bands. In the framework of the realistic Klein-Dunham potential, the transition probabilities and oscillator strengths for these pure vibrational transitions of SiH and SiH + are estimated from dipole moments obtained theoretically by the coupled-electron-pair-approach (CEPA-2) and the Hartree-Fock (HF) method, respectively. The (J= 1) - (J= 0) transitions for SiH + in the vibrational levels V =0,1 and 2 of the X1 + state are predicted to be at 453037, 441016 and 429540 MHz, respectively. The possibilities of for- mation and identification of SiH and SiH + in the interstellar medium are also discussed. Key words: transition-probabilities - oscillator strengths - rotation-vibration spectrum - molecular line identification - SiH and SiH + - interstellar medium
