An analytical and experimental evaluation of actuator vibration on LST image distortion
Abstract
A test program was conducted to study the effect of actuator vibrations on the pointing control system of the LST. The first phase of the program consisted of exploratory shaker testing to evaluate measurement techniques and to develop experimental transfer functions. The second phase, using operating control moment gyros, employed an analog data acquisition and processing system. The third phase was performed with an advanced analog-digital data acquisition and processing system and included additional transfer function studies and preliminary evaluation of a Sperry reaction wheel.
