An electro-optical scanner by intra-cavity modulation
Abstract
A new method for laser beam scanning by intracavity modulation is proposed. The structure of the proposed electrooptical scanner is described and the particular geometries chosen for the intracavity devices and mirrors are justified. The problem is formulated in terms of integral equations and its numerical solutions are carried out by computer. The spot size and the position shift of the optical beam are calculated by the approximate analytic formulas and are compared with the numerical results. The conditions for realization of this device are also considered.
