Axisymmetric vibration of multilayer sandwich plates and shells
Abstract
A curved axisymmetric element is used to investigate the free vibration of doubly-curved sandwich shells and singly-curved shells. Numerical results for the natural frequencies of multilayer circular plates, cylindrical shells, and deep spherical shells are obtained. The accuracy and versatility of the element are demonstrated through comparison with existing analytical and numerical results. Results involving convergence, mass condensation reduction, and parametric studies are given.
