Signal recognition in a complex radar environment
Abstract
Minimization of false alarms and identification and characterization of pulsed signals on the basis of pulse repetition interval (PRI) patterns are discussed. Simultaneous processing and identification of pulse characteristics, staggering of pulsed signals, ways of implementing PRI analysis, distinguishing of pulse trains in data samples, stagger tests, effects of pulse distortion on signal identification, and identifiability of most pulsed emitters from their PRI patterns are dealt with. The article concentrates on a computer algorithm technique using PRI as the primary sorting parameter for fast signal identification.
